Dr. Amir Alavi was born and raised in Dallas Texas. He Graduated from Berkner High School in Richardson TX in 1995. He then moved onto Austin college where he received his BA in 1999. He spent one year at the University of Houston School of Public Health prior to starting his medical education at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Worth Texas. The Remainder of his post graduate education was done at the University of Rochester School of Medicine where he completed his Anesthesiology residency and Pain management fellowship. Following his training he worked as a Senior Instructor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY for two years.

In 2012 he moved back to Dallas to start his practice in Pain Medicine. Dr. Alavi is board certified in Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. During his free time Dr. Alavi enjoys participating in school activities and sports with his four children. His personal interests include tropical fish, sports, and cars.
