GENERATE NEW CELLS
RM refers to new procedures and technologies designed to replace, engineer or “regenerate” human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish normal function.
Most of the available RM therapies are derived from autograft (patient’s own tissue) or allograft (same species sterile tissue) sources.
A patient’s blood can be used to harvest autograft healing factors. The red blood cells are removed from the sample leaving platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Platelets are blood cells that help clotting and carry many healing proteins in the blood.
PRP can be processed further to harvest the alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) from a patient’s blood. A2M bind to and stops the enzyme that causes arthritic breakdown in joints.
A patient’s bone marrow or fat can easily be aspirated to harvest mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). MSCs are the only type of “stem cell” therapy legal for use in the United States. MSCs can differentiate into multiple tissues including cartilage, connective tissue, bone and muscle.
Amniotic tissue is the primary allograft used in RM. It is safely harvested at birth by FDA approved processes. It has multiple anti-inflammatory and growth factor components and promotes tissue regeneration.
We offer all of these RM therapies and each is comfortably harvested and safely administered for a variety of painful conditions.
